January 10 The Ninth Annual Graduate Conference of the Department of History at Syracuse University, Call for Papers: Rethinking Movements
Friday, March 24th, 2017
Hosted by the Department of History Future Professoriate Program
The Future Professoriate Program of the Department of History at Syracuse University is pleased to announce that its ninth annual graduate conference will take place on 24 March 2017 at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. This year’s theme, “Rethinking Movements,” should be interpreted broadly to include papers on movements pertaining to political, social, cultural, religious, and philosophical developments. Proposals on medical or scientific movements (including discoveries of all kinds, the Scientific and Industrial Revolutions, paradigm shifts, and technological breakthroughs) as well as physical movements of goods and people (diasporic experiences, diplomatic and commercial encounters, networks, migration, displacement, colonization and imperialism) are also encouraged.
This day-long event provides an excellent opportunity to present current projects and receive feedback from both professors and other graduate students. The conference will include a breakfast, lunch, and closing reception with refreshments. Complementary housing for participants traveling from outside the Syracuse area will be provided, pending availability.
