The multidisciplinary Social Science Department at LaGuardia Community College, CUNY, invites applications for a tenure-track position in United States history to begin in September 2013.  The field of specialization is open.  The successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of assistant professor or instructor,  depending on qualifications.  She or he will be expected to teach the US history survey as well as topical introductory-level history classes.  Faculty members are expected to support departmental, divisional and college initiatives, to pursue an active research and publishing agenda, and to engage in professional development activities.  Online applications will be accepted at http://www.cuny.edu/employment.html
