London School of Economics is hiring a New York City-based Research Assistant

Dr. David Madden, assistant professor of sociology at the London School of Economics, is hiring a New York City-based Research Assistant for the 2015-2016 academic year. The Research Assistant will conduct archival research at the New York City Housing Authority and other local archives. Essential duties include gathering archival materials, locating sources, and organizing and annotating qualitative data.

 

Qualified candidates will be PhD or MA students in Sociology, History or other related fields who have experience conducting archival research. Work hours are somewhat flexible but a commitment of around 8 hours per week in the archives is required. The position will pay $25 per hour plus standard benefits, for up to 210 hours total. The position will be administered by the City University of New York (CUNY) Research Foundation.
