March 16 & 18 – PublicsLab internship course info sessions

The PublicsLab is hosting two  info sessions for IDS 81620: Scholarly Praxis at Work in the World, offered in Fall 2021. This is an opportunity for students (both MA and PhD) to receive academic credit for internships and to consider the connections and possibilities of intellectual work and scholarly praxis in a variety of spaces.

Students will be asked to secure their own internships for the course, and the info sessions offered are to help them figure out how to begin that process. We’ll be joined at both sessions by PublicsLab fellows who have successfully navigated the process of finding internships –– even in the middle of a pandemic.

Students with questions should reach out to Stacy Hartman directly at shartman2@gc.cuny.edu. Thank you!

IDS 81620: Scholarly Praxis at Work in the World

Instructor: Dr. Stacy Hartman, Director of the PublicsLab

Fall 2021 / 3 credits

This course is intended for students who wish to do an internship for academic credit. In addition to their internship, students will meet every other week as a group with Dr. Hartman to consider the connections between their internship experiences and their academic work, as well as how knowledge production and dissemination function outside the academy. Open to both doctoral and master’s students.

Info sessions to help students begin the process of securing an internship for fall semester will be offered via Zoom in March 2021. Registration is required to receive Zoom details.
