May 15 The Leon Levy Center for Biography: 2015 Biography Clinic

This free, intensive seminar, limited to 25 participants, is intended for graduate students and writers at any stages in their careers who are working on or are contemplating a first biography.

We will gather for a reception on Wednesday evening, May 27, followed by two days of sessions with eminent biographers, led by Gary Giddins, Annalyn Swan, Amanda Vaill, Brenda Wineapple and others, plus Q & A sessions with an agent, editor, and publisher.

No preparation is required, but active participation in discussions is expected.

Each day will include two sessions before lunch and two sessions after lunch, covering the nuts and bolts of life-writing, from conception to completion. Participants will receive a modest per diem for lunch, but the Leon Levy Center for Biography cannot provide housing or transportation.

If you are interested, please reply with a brief resume listing degrees and published work, if any, and a short statement of interest describing your current or proposed biography project (250 words max).

Please contact Michael Gately, Program Director, by email or phone with any questions: mgately@gc.cuny.edu / 212-817-2008.

All submissions must be received by Friday, May 15.
