Do you enjoy designing and leading programs for kids? Would you like to research and lead walking tours? Want to learn to cook over an open hearth…and then teach others? Do you get a kick out of history?

We’re hiring a new Manager of Audience Engagement who will:

• Design, implement, and publicize programs for both students and adults. You’ll lead field trips, tours of our historic houses, walking tours, and summer camp.
• Manage volunteers and interns. You’ll recruit, train, schedule and oversee volunteer activities.
• Design members-only opportunities and programs,
• Manage the museum shop and our online sales.

We are looking for an outgoing, energetic, detailed-oriented person with excellent verbal and written communication skills.The ideal candidate wants to work in small history museum, where no two days are the same. He or she works well in a team environment, has a passion for history, and preferably has a BA in Museum Studies, Public History, or relevant field plus 3 years experience or a MA degree in Museum Studies, Public History or a relevant field plus 1-2 years experience.

Some weekends and evening work are required. 20 – 25 hours per week.
