Call for Applications for 2014‐ 2015 Fellowship

The Center for Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino Studies is pleased to offer one Graduate Student Fellowship available for the 2015 ‐ 2016 Academic Year, in the amount of $15,000. Fellows will be expected to work approximately 10‐12 hours per week during the Fall and Spring semesters, and to produce three reports for the Latino data project. Fellows are encouraged to take advantage of the office space and the supportive academic environment among fellow graduate students.

The Fellow must be a full time student at the Graduate Center. His/ Her primary responsibilities will be to produce Latino Data Project reports along with other duties as requested by the Director. Sophisticated proficiency of SPSS and Excel is required, as well as experience working with quantitative data analysis. Training in studying Latin America and/or Latino experiences from a social scientific framework, and experience in carrying out research projects is highly desirable.

– Writing Sample, in which the candidate is the first, if not sole, author. This sample must demonstrate the candidate’s skills in both quantitative data analysis and written communication.

CLACLS was inaugurated in October 2001 with the support of a broad cross section of Latin American and Latino‐studies faculty specialists representing academic disciplines in the arts, social sciences, and humanities from every CUNY college. CLACLS has worked to promote the study and understanding of Latin American and Caribbean cultures and the communities established in the United States by peoples from this vast and extraordinarily diverse region with a special focus on the New York City metropolitan area.
