October 20 DSC: BULBTOBERFest

The Committee for Student Life and Services in coordination with Hudson River Pk Friends wants to invite GC students to take part in this volunteer festival. We will be financing expenses such water/snacks and tools, including gloves and necessary safety equipment for a day of gardening at Chelsea Waterside Park on this Saturday, October 20th  at 10:00am.

Date Saturday, October 20th , 2018 10:00am-1:00pm

Location: Chelsea Waterside Park  (23rd Street).

Project description: Volunteers will learn more about Hudson River Park’s unique environment and receive training from professional horticulturists on gardening techniques. All necessary tools, water and snacks will be provided along with an on-site orientation to Hudson River Park and the day’s project objectives.

Objectives:

  1. Planting Woodland bulbs and flowers
  2. Winter cleanup and bed preparation
  3. Addition of compost as needed

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY, just a willingness to work outdoors and get down in the dirt!
