Opportunities available from the Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society

As the new academic year begins, we invite students with an interest or background in civil society organizations and philanthropy to visit us at The Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society.

Our focus is on topics related to civil society, philanthropy or nonprofit studies, in the U.S. or internationally. This includes current or historical research on individual donor or place-based philanthropy, NGOs, nonprofit organizations, associations, public-private partnerships, and other innovative forms of civil society.

We offer Graduate Assistantships for presentations, conferences, and practical experience in our Center. The Center’s Hearst Graduate Assistants generally work at the Center 6-9 hours per week; however, project work, hours, and size of award may vary and will be worked out individually.

This semester, we are looking for help from students with skills in writing, editing and formatting documents, digital archiving, and social media.

Interested students should send a resume/CV and a one-page statement about their interest and work in the field to cpcs@gc.cuny.edu, or may call 212-817-2010 or stop by suite 5401.
