Carla Zecher has served as Director of the Center for Renaissance Studies at the Newberry Library (1999-2015) and is now the Executive Director of the Renaissance Society of America, located here at
the CUNY Graduate Center. She specializes in sixteenth-century French poetry and music, and in early modern French travel and exploration literature from the Americas.
