September 23 Crossing Bridges: Putting your PhD to Work in University Administration

The program will provide an opportunity to The Graduate Center’s students to explore administrative career options at the Graduate Center and CUNY campuses. The Ph.D. students will shadow senior administrators and learn essential components of their job. As a result, students will gain a better understanding of the administrative and professional functions of senior administrators, and how it relates to their own educational background.

The program will focus on:

• Building informal relationships and helping to understand college’s values and strategies
• Obtaining in-depth knowledge and understanding of university functions and departments
• Providing a full scope of administrators’ daily routine

We will be hosting an orientation session on Friday, September 23, 2016 during which our participating senior administrators will provide a brief synopsis of their career’s journey, and field questions from the audience. The orientation will be held in room C198 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM. If interested in finding out more, please rsvp by no later than September 19th to cjaggon@gc.cuny.edu.
