Tenement Museum seeks Senior Education Associate

 

Position Description: The Senior Education Associate oversees the Tenement Museum’s walking tour program from development to implementation and ongoing evaluation. S/he also plays a key role in educator management and in supporting the department’s administrative needs including budgets and payroll. S/he works closely with the Director of Education on the development of the teacher professional development program. The Senior Education Associate reports to the Vice President of Education and the Director of Education. This position works a Tuesday through Saturday schedule.Specific responsibilities include the following:Develops the content and conducts research for existing walking tours and new program initiatives.Serves as a spokesman for the Museum’s walking tour program.Designs and implements training for the walking tour program including evaluations and bimonthly meetings. Manages the 18-month review process for Educators.Develops and oversees a new monthly educator small group meeting schedule.Manages the teacher professional development program with the Director of Education.Coordinates payroll for Educators and conducts biweekly audits.Administers the Education Department budget tracking expenses.Manages the day-to-day operations of tours and programs, and in capacity of coordinator makes executive decisions regarding visitor wellbeing and scheduling changes.Conducts tours and education programs.Assists with program development as needed.

Qualifications: Management experience (3-5 years in an educational or cultural organization) Excellent administrative and presentation skills Research experience Master’s Degree
