10/7 – Statements of Teaching Philosophy Workshop

The Teaching and Learning Center and Writing Center invite Graduate Center students to attend an upcoming workshop for individuals planning or preparing statements of teaching philosophy for the job market.

On Wednesday, October 7, from 5:30-7:00, we’ll meet in Zoom to discuss what makes a strong statement of teaching philosophy, how to frame what’s distinct about the CUNY experience within the context of this document, and how to approach the rhetorical challenge of crafting this document. We’ll examine effective statements and work through various approaches.

Those wishing to receive feedback on drafts of their statements of teaching philosophy from the Writing Center can request a consultation with the GC’s Writing Center here: https://gcwritingcenter.commons.gc.cuny.edu/book-an-appointment/.
