Adelphi University in Garden City, NY seeks to hire adjunct instructors to teach the following in the spring 2015 semester, which begins on January 27:

Two sections of Western Civilization II that meet Tuesday and Thursdays 9:25am-10:40am and 10:50am-12:05pm.
One section of American Civilization II that meets 12:15pm-1:30pm

Pay is $4,152 per course. A peer review of the course will be conducted, which could be useful for someone seeking to build a teaching portfolio.

Adelphi University can easily be reached from NYC by public transportation via a short ride on the Long Island Railroad from Penn Station, the Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn, and Jamaica Station in Queens.
