“Anxieties of Democracy” – Social Science Research Council Seminar

Call for Participants:

Seminar series on current “Anxieties of Democracy”

 

The SSRC’s Anxieties of Democracy program[ssrc.org] invites applications from early and advanced doctoral students to participate in a 2-part Seminar series on current “anxieties of democracy,” led by the Council’s first Democracy Fellow, Professor Pierre Rosanvallon of the Collège de France.

 

When: Monday, Nov. 9, and Nov. 16, 10am-12:30pm, followed by lunch.

Where: Social Science Research Council Headquarters, Brooklyn, NY.

 

Pierre Rosanvallon, Professor and Chair of Modern and Contemporary History of Politics at the Collège de France, is renowned for his original historical and theoretical approach to the study of contemporary democracy. He has just released Le bon gouvernement (Seuil, 2015), the fourth volume in a series on the transformations of democracy in the 21st century.
