8th Annual History Graduate Student Conference
Friday, March 16, 2018

The History Department of the City University of New York’s Graduate Center invites graduate students from all departments to submit proposals for individual papers or panels to be presented at the eighth annual departmental conference on March 16th, 2018. The conference offers a welcoming environment in which students can gain experience presenting academic work, receive feedback from CUNY faculty, and meet other students working in related fields.

We are soliciting papers from across the spectrum of historical inquiry, and hope to foster interdisciplinary conversations covering a range of topics, approaches, time periods, and regions. Submissions may be complete papers but also preliminary research finds, works-in-progress, first-year research projects, or excerpts from dissertation chapters. Don’t feel you need to have a finished papers to apply!

Paper proposals should include a 250-word abstract and a Curriculum Vitae. Panel proposals should include a brief description, as well as an abstract and CV for every panelists. Finally, please indicate whether your talk will require electronic equipment.

Submissions are due January 15th, 2018.

To submit all proposals or for any questions, please email the organizers, Rafael Davis Portela, David Campmier, Erin Cully, Phelim Dolan, and Davide G. Colasanto, at GChistory.annualconference@gmail.com
