The Upper Division History Department at Horace Mann School is seeking a dynamic and experienced history teacher for grades 9-12 to teach a diverse and inclusive curriculum that reflects current scholarship. The successful candidate must be willing to teach Atlantic World History and United States History, with a preference for teaching experience in at least one of those subjects. The candidate should also be interested in teaching non-Western/Global History upper-level electives, which the department is committed to continuing to develop. Willingness to teach fundamental research and writing skills to a variety of grades and subject areas is a must. Teaching experience of three years is required and an advanced history degree is strongly recommended. Some current upper level electives include: Comparative Race and Ethnicity, Global Environmental History, Latin American History, Religion in History, and East Asian History. Start Date: August 31, 2020.
