Library Student Employment Position for Fall/Spring


The Library seeks a student worker for approximately 11 hours per week during Fall 2022 and Spring 2023.

An individual in this role will perform various duties associated with public services (outreach and communication). Duties may include the following, with additional tasks as needed:

  • Creating content on social
  •  media platforms and blog to enhance awareness of resources
  • Promotion of Library workshops/events
  •  to the Graduate Center community
  • Assisting with UX (user
  •  experience) assessment of digital and physical spaces
  • Developing graphics and
  •  promotional materials for Library visitors


Qualifications: Previous library or public service experience is welcomed, but not required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a detail-oriented approach are strongly preferred.



Graduate Center students are employed in this position by way of GC student employment appointments: compensation is based on a fixed hourly rate, and there are no associated benefits. This position requires a commitment of 200 hours per semester. Hourly wage: $18/hour.



Students must be enrolled at The Graduate Center full time in order to apply for this position. (For example Ph.D. students must be registered for 7 credits/WIUs and MA students must be registered for 12 or more credits).
