The Writing Center is pleased to announce a new initiative this semester: Taking Smarter Notes. This initiative focuses on a particular system for taking notes, the Zettelkasten method, that enables people who use it to treat their notes as a lifelong learning and thinking companion. Learn to take notes that capture your own original ideas, and learn to store those notes within a system that links your ideas together into expanding networks.

We begin with an informational session at 12 PM on Friday, February 18. Then, for students interested building a Zettelkasen of their own with the support of a community, we offer a Taking Smarter Notes working group every other Friday at 12 PM.
